There is a lot you need to do before you're ready for AI.

No documented knowledge = no context for AI to use.

AI is like a confident intern.

It thinks it can very well, even if it can't.

Pure r/confidentlyincorrect material.

The more context you give it, the better the results.

That's why the knowledge layer of a process is so important.

It's more important than ever.

Because it's no longer just about providing people with 'how to do things'.

It's providing the requirements and outcomes that enables AI automation.

And don't be dismayed if you're not there yet.

Manual improvements in documenting that knowledge and creating templates still work to improve efficiency - without handing it to an AI.

I've seen this recently with a team I've worked with. 5x efficiency improvement in some portions of their process by laying a solid foundation.

Don't let the AI bros fool you. You can make process improvements without AI.

But to be ready to use it to the fullest potential, you need your knowledge base foundation in place.
